The Lily Auchincloss Foundation, Inc. is a private grantmaking foundation dedicated to the enhancement of the quality of life in New York City. The Foundation supports contemporary visual art, preservation and community programs which serve to enrich the lives of the people of New York City. The Foundation funds only 501 (c) 3 organizations located within the five boroughs of New York City.

In December, 2001, the Foundation's board members decided to focus the Foundation's arts support on contemporary visual art. At this time, the Foundation is not considering proposals for dance, film, music or theater programs.

The Foundation does not award grants to individuals. In addition, the Foundation generally will not support research projects, mental health programs, medical services (including hospitals and nursing homes), substance abuse programs and private schools.
