Grants
The Foundation has three grant cycles per year:
The Foundation only accepts online applications. Each cycle opens approximately one month prior to each deadline.
Spring Deadline: March 15
Proposals are reviewed in April. All applicants are contacted during the month of May. Final decision is made in June.
Fall Deadline: August 15
Proposals are reviewed in September. All applicants are contacted during the month of October. Final decision is made in November.
Winter Deadline: December 15
Proposals are reviewed in January. All applicants are contacted during the month of February. Final decision is made in March.

Registration
Step 1:
Registration
If your organization already has an account, you may sign in with your User ID (email address) and Password.
If your organization does not have an account, you need to register first.
Contact information and Organization Contact
All applications must include:
1) Executive Director's name, address, telephone and email
2) Name and title of person completing the application
3) Organization's website
Please note: All contact information is required.
For grant writers and consultants, please include the Executive Director's information in the Organization Contact section.

Step 3: Click Submit your Application
The online application closes
at midnight on March 15, August 15 and December 15. Please do not wait until the last minute to submit your application.
Upon application submission, applicants receive a confirmation email within a week.

Provide a brief introduction of the organization including the Executive Director's name and contact information. (2,000 characters maximum).

Provide a brief description of the organization's mission and history. (4,000 characters maximum).

Q11. Proposal
Provide a brief proposal which outlines the project, program or organization, for which the funds are sought. This should include a detailed account of how the funds will be utilized, a history of the program, and its goals and objectives. All applicants are required to submit a proposal including organizations applying for General Operating Support. (4,000 characters maximum).

Q13. 501(c)3
Upload the organization's 501(c)3 determination letter as a pdf file (2MB file maximum). See How to save PDF files section below.
Please note: The Foundation cannot accept applications from organizations with a fiscal sponsor or whose tax-exempt status is pending. Organizations applying for a grant must have received an IRS determination letter. |

Provide a list of all funding sources (corporations, government, individuals, board of directors, grants, etc.) for the 2010-2011 fiscal year.
The list should include names, and amounts contributed and projected.

Q18. History with LAF
If the organization has received funding in the past, provide the funding year(s) and grant amount(s). (example: 2008: $10,000; 2007: $5,000; 2006: $15,000).
