The foundation supports art, education, human services, and preservation/environment programs located within the five boroughs of New York City.

We encourage organizations interested in applying for funding to read our mission and online application guidelines. Applicants may also review the list of past grantees from 2009, 2010 and 2011 to understand the organizations, programs and grant amounts the Foundation currently funds.

The foundation has three deadlines per year.

Letter of Acknowledgment
After receiving a grant, organizations are asked to forward a receipt so that the foundation has official documentation of our contribution.

Credits
Should there be any publicity given a grant, please credit the Lily Auchincloss Foundation, Inc. If you need the foundation’s logo, please contact us.

Reports
The foundation only requires organizations receiving multi-year grants to submit an interim report. See Multi-year grants information below.

Time off
The foundation requests that organizations that have received three years of funding take a year or two off before reapplying for support.

Discretionary grants
Individual members of the Board of Directors initiate these grants. We do not accept unsolicited proposals for discretionary grants. Discretionary grants are subject to approval by the Board.

Multi-year grants
The foundation requires organizations receiving multi-year grants to submit an online interim report. The interim reports should include:

1) brief progress report
2) current program and organizational budget
3) financial statement
4) list of all funding sources

The payment of future installments of the grant are contingent upon the Board’s assessment of the interim report. Reports are due:

No later than February 1, for grants received in March (winter).
No later than May 1, for grants received in June (spring).
No later than October 1, for grants received in November (fall).
